THE CREATION OF THE LABEL

The brand Off-white is created in 2013 by Virgil Abloh. Complete artist and polymath, Virgil Abloh is first of all an architect by training. After obtaining his degrees in architecture and civil engineering, he made his mark in music as a DJ. In parallel, he launches his first garment brand named Pyrex and becomes in stride the right arm of Kanye West, which he then considers as his mentor. The Assistant during the launch of his brand Yeezy. At the same time, he unveils his music production company... Pyrex Mink and ends up devoting himself almost exclusively to fashion. At least the time it takes to create a new brand... Off-White Milan. The designer from Illinois will bring an innovative dimension to his new brand by combining streetwear and high fashion.

 

HALFWAY BETWEEN LUXURY AND STREETWEAR

Strongly inspired by its urban background, the brand Streetwear display of influences luxury and arty. The emphasis is on the visuals, architecture and curves of his creations. He makes sure to highlight the exclusive and clever aspect of his creations, inspired by the way the greatest luxury houses work. Off-white is quickly becoming the fashion reference and the new must-have brand for American stars. Thus technical and modern collections are born. Between classic streetwear pieces such as hoodies and t-shirts, Virgil Abloh does not hesitate to innovate in its silhouettes sneakers as with the Odsy. This is how we find his signature and his world. Knowing a great craze, the brand originating from Milan will gradually invite itself to the catwalks during the Fashion Week testifying to the talent of the American designer. NIKE "THE TEN", THE REVELATION

But it is his collaboration with Nike which in 2017 will change the status of the creator and his brand. That year the two companies released a series of sneakers, called "The Sneakers of the Year". The Ten». The collection focuses on 10 models emblematic of the Swoosh brand and is divided into two lines: Revealing and Ghosting. The 5 silhouettes of the Revealing collection are: an Air Jordan 1, a Nike Air Max 90, a Nike Air Presto, a Nike Air VaporMax and a Nike Blazer Mid. And the 5 of the Ghosting collection are: a Nike Air Max 97, a Nike Zoom Fly SP, a Nike Air Force 1 Low, a Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 and a Converse Chuck Taylor. He will completely rethink the silhouettes of the brand at the swoosh with an approach unstructured. New materials are appearing with transparent fabrics revealing all the details of each pair. And the famous "zip tie"The final touch is red, which is the iconic signature of the Virgil Abloh. Released in very small quantities, this collaboration has completely unleashed sneaker fans. The two entities will then continue this collaboration for a few more years, revisiting one by one Nike's most emblematic models!
